Magic Theatre continues to foster its relationship with Taylor Mac, which began during its 2010-11 season with the rolling world premiere of his 5-hour fantastical epic The Lily's Revenge. Mac's cornucopia of theatre, party, circus, and social experiment won the prestigious Obie Award in 2010, in addition to earning a spot on the "Best Theater of 2009" lists in various publications, such as The New Yorker, TimeOut NY, The New York Post, etc.

A playwright, actor, and singer-songwriter, Taylor Mac's work has been performed at New York City's Lincoln Center, The Public Theatre, the Sydney Opera House, Boston's American Repertory Theatre, and London's Soho Theatre, to name a few. Mac is the author of sixteen full-length plays and performance pieces. Mac has also been named one of New York's best theatre artists by The New York Times, The New Yorker, and American Theatre Magazine. Most recently, the Village Voice named him New York's best theatre actor of 2013.

Mac's second Magic Theatre production, Hir, follows newly enlightened Paige as she forges a deliriously liberated world for her two wayward children: Isaac, on leave from the Marines under dubious circumstances; and Max, tender, jaded, and sculpting a third-sex gender identity for hirself.

The exceptional cast of Hir features Tony-nominated actress Nancy Opel as Paige, Mark Anderson Phillips as Arnold, Ben Euphrat as Isaac, and Jax Jackson as Max.

Magic Theatre is located in San Francisco at Fort Mason Center in Building D on the 3rd floor (entrance to the parking lot at the intersection of Marina Blvd. and Buchanan St.). Ticket prices range from $20 to $60. For more information or to purchase tickets, go online to www.magictheatre.org or call the box office at 415-441-8822.
