CYNTHIA-REEVES Projects is pleased to confirm the recent acquisition of Jaehyo Lee's Standing Sculpture by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA), an acquisition which follows the inclusion of his work in Japan's Hyogo Prefecture Museum of Art, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in South Korea, among others. Marking the first major U.S. museum retrospective, Sculpture by Jaehyo Lee officially closes doors on May 7th. The exhibition garnered tremendous accolades for its beautifully exhibited installation of wood and patterned nail motif. Curator Michael Panhorst, Ph.D. writes of the exhibition: "We sense Lee's artistic roots in the fertile soil of Earthworks, Land Art, Environmental Art, Eco-Art, Installations and Minimalism, but his means do not encumber his ends. We marvel at his artistry, but the quiet elegance and simplicity of his art is what we see first, and what we remember."
