Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC)announced the return of the Clover Sonoma Family Fun Series for the 2018-19 season. Featuring six shows for young audiences and their families, this educational and interactive series serves as part of LBC's commitment to present dynamic family entertainment in Santa Rosa.
With the continued support of presenting partner Clover Sonoma, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts is able to offer tickets at an accessible price, allowing as many families as possible to attend. This season, Family Fun Series subscribers will be invited to exclusive post-show meet-and-greet and autograph sessions with the performers, as well as an opportunity to attend a backstage tour. Each event in the series will also feature pre-show activities, including Free Fun with Art, custom-designed arts and crafts projects for the whole family. The concessions stand will offer drinks and pizza from Mary's Pizza Shack, LBC's exclusive pizza partner and a generous supporter of the Family Fun Series.
Season ticket packages for either four or six shows (with savings of 10%-29% off regular ticket prices) are now available at
lutherburbankcenter.org, by phone at 707-546-3600, or at the box office located at 50
Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa. Single tickets for each show will be available at a later date.

The Clover Sonoma Family Fun Series kicks-off on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. with The New Chinese Acrobats. Created in association with the world-famous Cirque Eloize company, The New Chinese Acrobats represent the next step in the evolution of acrobatic companies from the East. Mixing new techniques and acts with ancient traditions, the show features the best of China's ancient folk art, mixed with the modern style and virtuosity of today. Performers are selected from across China for their high-level acrobatic skills and innovative staging, and the show includes award-winning acts from prestigious circus festivals such as
Monte Carlo Circus Festival and World Circus Festival of Paris.
On Monday, December 10, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. TheaterworksUSA presents The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System. When the class gets lost on the way to the planetarium, Ms. Frizzle saves the day by blasting into outer space for an epic inter-planetary field trip. When rivalries both old and new threaten to tear the students apart, the young heroes must learn to pull together or risk getting forever lost in the solar system. The audience is invited to hop on the Magic School Bus for a ride in TheaterworksUSA's new musical adaptation based on the original book series by Scholastic.
Kicking off the new year, on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 3 p.m. The Clover Sonoma Family Fun Series will present Peter Gros of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. In his popular live presentations, Gros shares his exiting animal world, traveling experiences and timeless tales. He highlights his many adventures with a mix of video clips and bloopers, while introducing friendly exotic animals to audience members, and telling inspirational stories dealing with issues of conservation, traveling, and wildlife filming. His fascinating stories have been thrilling and educating audiences for years, and he is a frequent lecturer on conservation and preservation at universities, zoos and nature and science centers around the nation.
On Friday, March 1, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. Theaterworks USA presents Dragons Love Tacos & Other Stories. This adaptation for the stage is based on the book written by Adam Rubin with illustrations by Daniel Salmieri. Dragons love all sorts of tacos- except spicy ones! When a boy throws his dragon friends a spicy salsa taco party, red-hot trouble ensues. Other stories include: Interrupting Chicken, The Dot, Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride, and Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa School Days.
On Monday, March 25, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. the #1 bestselling children's chapter book series is transformed into The Magic Tree House: A Hip-Hop Musical. Jack and Annie learn that the show must go on when the Magic Tree House whisks them back to Elizabethan England. There the darling sibling duo meets
William Shakespeare himself- one of the greatest writers of all time! Based on the critically-acclaimed book series by Mary Pope Osbourne, this tuneful tale is a hip-hop hit with kids and grown-ups alike.
Concluding the series is the Panto Company's Beauty and the Beast on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 3 p.m. The beautiful Belle finds herself in a spell-bound castle held captive by a beast... does she fall in love with the Beast before the last petal falls from the enchanted rose? Or will the Beast's selfishness cost him the world he once knew and the hand of the girl that has melted his heart? The Panto Company presents a show filled with lots of laughter, stunning costumes, music and plenty of magic.
