Luther Burbank Center Offering 'Pay What You Can' Option to Select November Shows

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced a "Pay What You Can" program for select performances during the month of November.

The program offers tickets to those affected by the recent fires and to first responders, and is a way to welcome the community back as the Center reopens its doors.

Performances included in the "Pay What You Can" program are Shopkins Live! Shop it Up (November 9), Air Supply (November 11), Imago Theatre's La Belle (November 14), Dwight Yoakam (November 26), PJ Masks Live! Time to Be a Hero (November 27) and Mannheim Steamroller (November 29).

Says President and CEO Rick Nolin, "During these challenging times, we believe the Center provides a place for the community to come together, connect, find solace and experience the restorative power of a live performance-and we want that opportunity to be available to everyone."

Tickets for "Pay What You Can" performances are available in-person at the ticket office (open daily at noon) at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa, by calling 707-546-3600, or online at lutherburbankcenter.org with the code sonomastrong. Subject to availability, there is a limit of 4 tickets per show for the "Pay What You Can" option.


SHOPKINS LIVE! SHOP IT UP!
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2017 at 6:30 P.M.
TICKETS: $25 - $100 (lap passes for children 2 and under are available for $5 on the day of show only)

The beloved Shoppies make their theatrical debut in an original new live show featuring musical performances by Jessicake, Bubbleisha, Peppa-Mint, Rainbow Kate, Cocolette, Polli Polish and more! The fun and fashionista Shoppies are joined by the Shopkins - the grocery store-themed mini collectable toys - Apple Blossom, Strawberry Kiss, Lippy Lips, Kooky Cookie, Poppy Corn, Slick Breadstick and Shady Diva. An ensemble cast of multi-talented performers brings the show to life on stage through urban style music, song and dance. Shopkins Live! immerses audiences in the world of Shopville using custom-designed theatrical costumes, creative onstage characters, state-of-art video and set design, and original pop songs and music.

AIR SUPPLY
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2017 at 8 P.M.

Australian adult contemporary favorite Air Supply performs from their classic romantic hits which include "Lost in Love," "All Out of Love," "One That You Love," "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" and "Every Woman in the World." After the band was signed by Clive Davis to Arista Records, "Lost in Love" became the fastest selling single in the world, leaping to the top of all of the charts in 1980. Seven top-five singles later, Air Supply at that time had equaled The Beatles' run of consecutive top five singles. The albums "Lost in Love," "The One That You Love," "Now & Forever," and "The Greatest Hits" sold in excess of 20 million copies. The trademark sound of Russell Hitchcock's soaring tenor voice and Graham Russell's simple yet majestic songs created a unique sound that would forever be known as Air Supply.

CLOVER SONOMA FAMILY FUN SERIES: IMAGO THEATRE'S LA BELLE

A full family holiday experience, starting with treats and hands-on arts & crafts fun before the performance. The show presented by the acclaimed Imago Theatre is La Belle: Lost in the World of the Automaton, a new fairy tale praised by The New York Times and National Public Radio. Using over 100 special effects and large-scale puppetry, La Belle is a retelling of the original classic Beauty and the Beast using elements of steampunk to tell this magical tale. Audiences are encouraged to arrive an hour early for Free Fun with Art, custom-designed arts & crafts projects for the whole family, with pizza and beverages.

DWIGHT YOAKAM

Dwight Yoakam has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, and he is a 21-time nominated, multiple GRAMMY Award winner. He has 12 gold albums and 9 platinum or multi-platinum albums, with five of those albums topping Billboard's Country Albums chart, and another 14 landing in the Top 10. Nearly 40 of Yoakam's singles have charted, with 14 peaking in the Top 10. He received the Artist of the Year award at the 2013 Americana Music Honors & Awards ceremony, the most prestigious award offered by the organization. In September of 2016, Yoakam released his first ever bluegrass album Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars...on Sugar Hill Records. Featuring a band of bluegrass luminaries, this album reflects the love for bluegrass music that Yoakam developed at an early age in Kentucky, and that has inspired him for many years thereafter. MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER CHRISTMAS BY Chip Davis

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis has been America's favorite holiday tradition for over 30 years! Grammy Award Winner Chip Davis created a show that features Mannheim Steamroller Christmas classics along with a selection of compositions from Chip's groundbreaking Fresh Aire series which introduced the distinctive Mannheim sound to all of America. The program celebrates the group's recent anniversary of 30 years since the first Christmas album and 40 years since the first Fresh Aire album and includes dazzling multimedia effects performed in an intimate setting.
