Luther Burbank Center For The Arts Welcomes 30 North Bay Pastry Artists To Participate In THE ART OF DESSERT  Image

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced that 30 pastry artists from North Bay bakeries, restaurants and catering companies will participate in the annual benefit, The Art of Dessert, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Center's Lytton Rancheria Grand Lobby (50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa). The Art of Dessert-now in its 15th year-features one-of-a-kind confections created by the North Bay's most esteemed pastry artists. The desserts are judged by a panel of local celebrities, and will double as artistic table centerpieces and the delectable final course. The Art of Dessert raises vital funds for the Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation, which allows LBC to engage Sonoma County residents in the power of the arts, from world class performances to nationally recognized education programs that change the lives of 40,000 children annually. Since its inception, The Art of Dessert has raised $3.2 million and helped the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts provide the enrichment of arts to more than 400,000 children.

Participating in this year's The Art of Dessert are pastry chefs from Barndiva, the Cake Lady of Cloverdale, Chloe's Catering, Costeaux French Bakery, Criminal Bakery, Crumb Hither, Downtown Bakery & Creamery, Dry Creek Kitchen, Firefly Catering, Fleur de Lisa, Hazel Restaurant, IMA Cake Couture, Jackson Family Wines, John Ash & Co, Just Bitten, Les Pascales, Mapi's Cakes, Michelle's Corner Cakes, Moustache/Noble Folk, Oliver's Market, Pascaline, Redbird Bakery, SHED, Sift Dessert Bar, Sonoma Cake Creations, Supreme Sweets, Tomales Bakery, The Trading Post Cloverdale, Willow Trees Bakery and Your Sweet Expectations. The Art of Dessert features celebrity-hosted tables, where guests will experience the evening with engaging and dynamic celebrities who not only have knowledge and insight of the food scene, but also share enthusiasm for the arts and education programs at LBC. This year's Celebrity Hosts include Food Network star and local restaurateur, Duskie Estes; Top Chef Master and local restaurateur, Douglas Keane; master chef and hospitality entrepreneur, Charlie Palmer; Chez Panisse Desserts author and James Beard Award-winning pastry chef, Lindsey Shere; popular Sonoma County executive chef and James Beard Award finalist, Mark Stark of Stark Reality Restaurants; and acclaimed travel and food writer, Matt Villano.

The elegant evening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail and hors d'ouevres reception featuring silent and wine auctions. At 7 p.m. guests will be treated to a lavish dinner provided by John Ash and Company, along with a live auction featuring exceptional items, including incredible local experiences, great travel packages and much more. The evening culminates at 8:30 p.m. when guests indulge in the one-of-a-kind cakes adorning each table. Rodney Strong Vineyards is the generous wine sponsor for Art of Dessert.
