The Los Altos Stage Company presents a new comedy by Ken Ludwig that seeks answer one of life's most important questions, "What's so darn funny about the game of golf?" The Fox on the Fairway opens November 20 and runs through December 14 at the Bus Barn Theater in Los Altos.

A tribute to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, The Fox on the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of two competing golf country clubs. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the great Marx Brothers' classics. It's a charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with...golf.

Ken Ludwig is an internationally-acclaimed, Tony Award-winning playwright whose work has been performed in more than 30 countries in over 20 languages. His first play on Broadway, Lend Me A Tenor, won three Tony Awards. His other best-known shows include Crazy For You, Moon Over Buffalo, Leading Ladies, Twentieth Century, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Game's Afoot, Midsummer/Jersey, The Three Musketeers, Treasure Island and The Fox on the Fairway.

The Los Altos Stage Company's production of The Fox on the Fairway is directed by Daniel P. Wilson, Associate Artistic Director, who directed last season's hugely successful dark comedy, Harold and Maude. This production features a talented ensemble of Bus Barn Theater veterans, as well as new faces, including:

Michael Weiland as Justin Hicks
Brooke Silva as Louise Heindbedder
Fred Pitts as Henry Bingham
Ali Gangi Malone as Pamela Peabody
Danny Martin as Dickie Bell
Stephanie Crowley as Murial Bingham

Performances are Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sunday matinees at 3 pm. Ticket prices range from $18 (student) to $34. Opening Night tickets, including a reception with the artists, are $36. Tickets are available on-line at www.losaltosstage.org or by calling the Box Office at (650) 941-0551.
