Los Altos Youth Theatre proudly brings its summer musical to the Bus Barn Theater when Little Women takes the stage this July.
Based on Louisa May Alcott's life and novel, Little Women follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but publishers aren't interested. Jo's friend Professor Bhaer implores her to infuse her writing with a more personal touch. Begrudgingly taking his advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War-era America. Little Women embodies the complete American experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. Little Women will be performed by youth actors from Los Altos and surrounding communities, ranging in age from 9-19. It features the talents of Melissa Brown, Olivia Colace, Steve Corelis, Paige Decena, Veronica Eulenberg, Summer Gleason, Diya Gupta, Olivia Huemann, Katie King, Andrea Kline, Franny Kline, Rosie Kline, Ellie Kline, Lauren Krieger, Josh Michelberg, Whitney Moore, Rachel Minden, Isha Nadrani, Peter Owens, Ella Maxine Rasmussen, Audrey Rechenmacher, Megan Reed, Skyler Riordan, Nicole Saltzman, Raya Sapiro, Ellie Schwartz, Anushka Srinivasan, and Alexandra Szabo.Los Altos Youth Theatre is an education-driven, performance-based program located in Silicon Valley. We stage a minimum of three productions per season: two musicals and one play. The unique venue of the Bus Barn Theatre offers our students the opportunity to perfect their individual style of performance while challenging them to grow as artists. Los Altos Youth Theatre is a joint program of the City of Los Altos Recreation and Community Services Department and Los Altos Stage Company. We offer many different opportunities for our young performers including blended shows and compelling classes.
