Nineteen year old Judy Butterfield's holiday show "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" will reflect on the winter season, as one year comes to an end and a new one begins. Judy will share songs and stories on the themes of homecoming, being with loved ones, and finding your way.
Ms. Butterfield has been making a name for herself by bringing a youthful perspective to The Great American Songbook. The daughter of Richard Butterfield, a former company member at The American Conservatory Theater, and Glynn Butterfield, a video and film producer, Judy grew up listening to Ella, Frank, and Judy Garland. Judy's entrance into cabaret performing came in 8th grade when she sought out the guidance of cabaret great Andrea Marcovicci, who happened to have worked with Judy's father at ACT.Upon meeting Judy, Ms. Marcovicci asked "So, do you want to be in show business?" And when Judy answered "Yes", the elegant Ms. Marcovicci, a veteran of movies, television and Broadway, remarked "Oh you poor dear." Never one to shy away from a challenge, young Judy performed her first solo cabaret act "Far Away: The Music of Jerome Kern" at fourteen.
Soon after, Judy performed at the Empire Plush Room, making her official professional cabaret debut in "Judy Sings Judy: Songs Of A Young Garland." Judy has become one of the fastest rising stars in the cabaret world, successfully navigating a double life; busy performer and full time college student
