Jim Brickman Makes Rare Bay Area Appearance with David Burnham November 10, 2013

Continuing its 10th Anniversary Season, Bay Area Cabaret presents America's Romantic Piano Sensation, Jim Brickman in concert. Making his first San Francisco appearance in nearly ten years, Mr. Brickman will perform solo at 8pm, and with special guest Broadway tenor David Burnham at 5pm, Sunday, November 10, at the historic Venetian Room of the Fairmont San Francisco, 950 Mason Street. Scoring six gold and platinum records along with three #1 radio hits, Mr. Brickman currently holds the record for the most appearances by a male artist on Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts. He has collaborated with stars ranging from Olivia Newton-John to Michael Bolton to Megan Hilty, Lea Salonga and Lady Antebellum. His popular radio program, Your Weekend With Jim Brickman, has been nationally syndicated since 1997 and heard on over 80 radio stations across North America. For television, Mr. Brickman has recorded four PBS television specials: My Romance: An Evening with Jim Brickman (2000), Love Songs and Lullabies (2002), Jim Brickman Live from Disney's Magic Kingdom (2005) and Beautiful World (2009). In March 2013, Brickman brought together the stars of the 70's with Jim Brickman Presents Celebration of the 70's featuring David Cassidy, Thelma Houston, Ambrosia's David Pack, Rita Coolidge, Stephen Bishop, Yvonne Elliman, Firefall, and more.

For his Bay Area Cabaret 10th Anniversary appearance, Mr. Brickman will perform solo at 8pm. with a selection of his greatest hits, including "Valentine," "If You Believe," "The Gift," and many other fan favorites. At his 5pm performance, Mr. Brickman will share the stage with Broadway heartthrob David Burnham. Lauded for his performances as Fiyero in the mega-hit musical Wicked, and Fabrizio in the original Broadway cast and national tour of Light in the Piazza (receiving a Helen Hayes Award for Best Actor), Mr. Burnham has charmed critics and audience members alike, being called "a knockout both visually and vocally" by The Miami Heraldand "joyously electric" by the San Francisco Chronicle. He has recorded two albums, David Burnham and One Day, tours the world with his solo concerts, and performs with symphonies around the country. Together, the pair will perform songs from Mr. Brickman's current "Love Tour," including "Romanza," "Love of My Life," "Dream Come True," and more.

Bay Area Cabaret was founded ten years ago by fifth generation San Francisco native Marilyn Levinson as a not-for profit organization. Through its concert series and wide-ranging outreach activities, BAC aims to expand the definition of cabaret and broaden the audience for intimate entertainment, offering Great American Songbook entries from Harold Arlen and Stephen Sondheim to Antonio Carlos Jobim and Joni Mitchell. Past performances have featured Sutton Foster, Barbara Cook, Marvin Hamlisch, Megan Hilty, Christine Ebersole, songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Peter Gallagher, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley, Stacey Kent and Jane Monheit, Rent stars Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal, and the high school vocal competition Bay Area Teen Idol.

Bay Area Cabaret continues its 10th Anniversary season in the new year with John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey in "This Must be the Place" (January 19, 2014), Chita Rivera in "Chita Rivera: A Legendary Celebration" (February 23, 2014), Stacey Kent celebrating her new bossa nova CD release "The Changing Lights," (March 15, 2014), rising pop star Morgan James (April 6, 2014), and Karen Mason in "Secrets of the Ancient Divas" (May 18, 2014).
