The West Valley Light Opera carries on its 42nd season with Honk!, playing through March 31 at the Saratoga Civic Theater.

"A new award-winning British musical comedy about a little duck named Ugly whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors," describes press notes, "Separated from his home on the farm and pursued by a hungry cat in his rollicking journey, he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms. It is witty, but also deeply moving."

Honk! featuring music by George Stiles with book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe, opened in London in 2000 and won the Olivier Award as Best New Musical.

Directed by Geri Carlson Sauls, Honk! will continue through March 31.  A special family matinee is being presented on March 17 at 2:30 PM with discounted tickets for children under 12.  Regular show times are Fridays & Saturdays at 8PM (no evening performance March 17) and Sundays at 2:30PM.

For information and ticket reservations, call the box office at 408-268-3777 or visit www.wvlo.org.  The Saratoga Civic Theatre is located at 13777 Fruitvale Ave, Saratoga.
