Holiday Hit AVENUE Q Extends at New Conservatory Theatre Center

Due to another holiday season of sold-out houses, New Conservatory Theatre Center has extended its award-winning production of everyone's favorite foul-mouthed, feel-good musical: Avenue Q, with music, lyrics and original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and book by Jeff Whitty.

Originally scheduled to play through January 15, 2017, Avenue Q will now run through January 22, 2017. Tickets are $40 - $55 and are available at nctcsf.org or by calling (415) 861-8972. Performances are Tuesdays - Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm.

Ring-in the New Year with Avenue Q, a special New Year's Eve performance, will be presented Saturday, December 31, 2016, complete with complimentary champagne toast and festive early start time of 7pm. Tickets are $60 are available at nctcsf.org or by calling (415) 861-8972.

Proclaimed by San Francisco Travel Magazine as "a local tradition," this "year-in, year-out hilarious, high-energy, and heart-warming production" (TheatrE Eddys) won over critics and audiences alike in its previous engagements in NCTC's intimate Decker Theatre. Declares the San Francisco Examiner, "only the Grinch could prevent the laughter-filled show from selling out night after night."

NCTC's production is directed by Dennis Lickteig, with musical direction by Matthew Lee Cannon and orchestrations and arrangements by Stephen Oremus.

New Conservatory Theatre Center has been San Francisco's premier LGBTQIA and allied performing arts institution and progressive arts education conservatory since 1981. NCTC is renowned for its diverse range of innovative, high-quality productions, touring productions and shows for young audiences; its foundational anti-bullying work with youth and educators through YouthAware; and its commitment to developing new plays to expand the canon of queer and allied dramatic work.
