Hal Holbrook stars for a one-night-only performance of his critically acclaimed show, Mark Twain Tonight! at the Flint Center, Oct. 21 at 8:00PM.

Hal Holbrook in Mark Twain Tonight! is the ultimate merger of man and material. "It only takes moments before the familiar actor disappears and you are left under the spell of his alter ego," states press notes, "A re-creation of Twain's own lecture circuit appearances, every word on stage comes verbatim from Twain. Holbrook is able, through Twain, to comment with wry wit on the contemporary American scene."

"When Holbrook's Mark Twain Tonight! opened off-Broadway at New York City's 41st Theatre in 1959, it took the theatre world by storm and became an immediate hit. What started as a college honors project for aspiring actor Holbrook soon became the model for one-man theatrical performances."  His award-winning performance is also available on CD.

Holbrook won the 1966 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his original role as Twain, as well as the 1959 Drama Desk Vernon Rice Award. Additionally, he earned an Emmy nomination for the televised version of the show on CBS. Holbrook has also appeared on Broadway in The Glass Menagerie (1965), Man of La Mancha (1968), and The Apple Tree (1967).
