Fairy-Tale Adventure SHREK THE MUSICAL Comes to Los Altos

Multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning Shrek The Musical. Set in a mythical "once upon a time" land, Shrek The Musical tells the story of a hulking green ogre, Shrek, who sets off on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded castle. While Shrek finds something appealing about this pretty princess, he can't understand why she runs off when the sun sets. Based on the Oscar-winning Dreamworks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a fairy-tale adventure featuring a cast of well-known characters including Pinocchio, the Gingerbread Man, and the Three Little Pigs as well as all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a wildly comic book by the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole; High Fidelity). USA Today called Shrek The Musical "ingeniously wacky. Altogether irresistible" while Newsday hailed it as, "Sweet, big and extremely lovable." Under the direction of Milissa Carey, Shrek The Musical will feature a full orchestra, with musical direction by Rick Reynolds, and choreography by Nicole Helfer.
