Bay Area-based syndicated radio show In Deep with Angie Coiro will debut live interviews at the Dragon Theatre in Redwood City, beginning August 9. The show will now be produced in two Peninsula venues: Thursday noon recordings at the Dragon, and an ongoing evening series at Kepler's Books in Menlo Park.
In Deep features one-hour interviews on a wide ranges of topics "with one throughline," notes Angie Coiro, the show's host. "The common thread is passion. The topics, the guests, the audience - everyone involved cares deeply about politics, books, news, arts. Every conversation comes back how we engage with each as we move through the world."
Coiro says the new venue and her own acting background make production at the Dragon irresistible. "It underlines one of In Deep's key strengths," she explains. "We produce not just a podcast, not just a radio show, but live events. There's energy that comes only with an in-person audience, reacting and contributing in real time."
In Deep's Executive Producer Carolee Hazard says the Dragon's mission and the radio show's priorities are a perfect fit. "We share a common goal: we open the door to new ideas, and we excite people's deep-seated curiosity about the world and people around us."
In Deep with Angie Coiro will record its first show at the Dragon Theatre August 9 at 12 noon. Further dates and guest information are detailed at indeepradio.com.
These events are free of charge. The doors open at 11:30a and the show starts at noon and runs about an hour.
