The producers of DARREN ROMEO, THE VOICE OF MAGIC announced today that it will play its final performance on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 7 p.m. at San Francisco's Post Street Theatre. Anyone holding tickets for performances after June 29 should return to the original point of purchase to receive a refund or exchange the tickets for an earlier performance.
In DARREN ROMEO, THE VOICE OF MAGIC, Romeo combines an inspiring blend of moving vocals and masterful illusions for a one-of-a-kind magical performance. His Broadway-inspired magic and musical production features classic and contemporary music ranging from
Andrew Lloyd Webber to Billy Joel, as well as Romeo's original compositions. The show is punctuated by dramatic illusions including famed magician
Harry Blackstone's classic "Floating Light Bulb." Romeo is the only magician entrusted by the Blackstone Estate to perform this illusion.
Pat Craig of the Contra Costa Times called the show "Mind-blowing! A flashy, glitzy show with a big heart," while Jerry Friedman of KGO-radio called it "an absolutely dynamite show!"
Darren Romeo was named Magician of the Year 2004 by the Academy of Magical Arts Awards and Entertainer of the Year by the International Magicians Society. In 2004 Romeo was also honored by The Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.) for his contributions to magic and performance. He has been featured on such shows as "Entertainment Tonight," "Access Hollywood," "Extra," "The Insider" as well as in Details magazine.
