Set in the fall of 1963, Dogfight follows three young Marines on the eve of their deployment to Vietnam who set out for one last night of debauchery in San Francisco. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress, he enlists her to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits, she rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of compassion. Based on the 1991 film of the same name starring River Phoenix and Lili Taylor, Dogfight carries the audience through a thunderous musical journey of unexpected love, loss, and brotherhood.

Dogfight in Walnut Creek is directed by Jasen Jeffrey. Breathing life into the pop score is Vocal & Music Director Sean Kana with choreography by Nicole Helfer.
Jeffrey returns to the Lesher Center after directing last fall's production of Tarzan for CCMT. Other Bay Area directing credits include In the Heights (Broadway by the Bay), RENT (Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre & CCMT) and Little Shop of Horrors (CCMT).
Kana is back with "OMG!" after music directing last seasons hit production of The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Other recent Lesher Center credits include Joseph and the Amazing... for CCMT (2013 Shellie Award Winner) and Sweet Charity for CenterREP.
Helfer is no stranger to the Lesher Center having last appeared as Fontine in CCMT's Les Miserables. Recent choreography credits In the Heights (Broadway by the Bay) and Tarzan (CCMT).
