On Friday, October 30, comedian Liz Grant will perform at The Purple Onion in a show also featuring Nick Leonard, Veronica Porras, and Anthony Hill. The event will be hosted by Jill Bourque.

At seventeen, Liz made her stage debut at Tommy T's in San Leandro, California with comedian Tom Rhodes. She then pursued a career as a professional massage therapist, and much of her comedy still involves this part of her life. For three years she was a tour guide in San Francisco's North Beach conducting a tour she co-wrote called Where's The F'ing Beach in North Beach? She was a writer for George Carlin's Laugh.com. She writes her own material and often assists fellow comedians in enhancing their own material and performances. Grant recently performed in her one woman stand up comedy show Deja Wince: Lessons From A Failed Relationship Expert which ran for twenty three weeks in San Francisco.

Tickets for Liz Grant at the Purple Onion are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Dinner and Show packages are also available for $36.95.  Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

The Purple Onion is one of the most historic stand-up comedy venues in the world. The 80-person intimate nightclub was a popular influence in local music and entertainment during the Beat era. Legendary comedians have performed here including Woody Allen, Richard Pryor, and Lenny Bruce. The Smothers Brothers recorded their ground-breaking debut comedy album there in 1961. And housewife-turned comic, Phyllis Diller, began her career at the Purple Onion, playing for a record-breaking 87 weeks straight. For more information, visit www.purpleonionlive.com.
