Universally considered 'Britain's greatest living comedian', Billy Connolly has been described as 'a genius', his concerts 'otherworldly', and his honesty 'terrifyingly insightful'. Revered across the globe, he has broken box office records from the UK to New Zealand. Connolly currently holds the record for most performances at the Sydney Opera House, while his recent tour of Scotland sold out in minutes - only tickets to U2 sold out quicker. Connolly was recently immortalized on the Avenue of the Stars (the UK's version of The Hollywood Walk of Fame) alongside Sir Laurence Olivier, John Cleese and The Rolling Stones.
Best known in the United States for his starring role in the popular 1980's sitcom "Head of the Class," Connolly most recently appeared in the cult classic Fido and is currently filming the as yet untitled X-Files sequel feature film. Connolly has also appeared on-screen with some of Hollywood's biggest stars including Dame Judi Dench in the prestigious art film Mrs. Brown, Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai and Jim Carrey in Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Billy's audience is as diverse as his material: working men and celebrities pack halls across the globe. His hour-long special with London Weekend TV's "An Audience with Billy Connolly" and his two-week SRO run at London's Palladium was attended by Michael Caine, Elton John, Bob Hoskins, George Michael, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr and Twiggy. Dustin Hoffman, Steve Buscemi, Lorraine Bracco and Michael Moore were all part of the audience in New York at 37 Arts, while Nicole Kidman, Eric Idle, John Lithgow, and David Mamet attended the show in Los Angeles.
