Sonoma State University Department of Theatre Arts & Dance presents "The Bluebird," by Alison Farina, based on the play by Maurice Maeterlinck.
A beautiful and enchanting fairy-tale, "The Bluebird" takes audiences on a journey through the eyes of young boy struggling through tough times. A magical holiday snow globe takes the boy on a fantastical journey of adventures to the Lands of Memory, Palaces of Night and Luxury where he finds the secret of true happiness.
This magical main stage production, directed by Judy Navas, provides a much-needed reminder of how important it is to appreciate the simple things in life. Based on the play "The Blue Bird," by Maurice Maeterlinck, this adaptation by playwright Alison Farina has been updated to resonate with today's audience. "The Bluebird" is an all ages show providing a unique and meaningful message for the holiday season.
Performances are Dec. 1 to Dec. 10, 2016, presented 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2; Saturday; Dec. 3, Thursday, Dec. 8, Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.
Admission prices is $5 to $17. Sonoma State University students are admitted free to all productions with valid student ID. Tickets are $10 non-SSU students and seniors; $15 Sonoma State University Faculty and Staff; and $17 standard admission. $5 admission for all ticket buyers offered for "$5 Friends & Family Night." SSU faculty and staff receive free admission at these performances.

From the South entrance on East Cotati Avenue, turn right at the stop sign in front of the information kiosk. Park in Lots E (left) and F (right). Parking in SSU lots is $5 at all times. Permits may be purchased from the vending machines located at the entrance to parking lots, or at toll booths when available.
