Cinnabar Theater, the beloved professional theater in Sonoma County, kicks off its 41st season with an uplifting production of "The Pavilion." Emmy Award nominee Craig Wright has penned episodes for popular TV shows like "Six Feet Under" and "Lost." Now Cinnabar is proud to present his acclaimed play: "The Pavilion" opens on Friday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, September 22.

Hailed by critics as "an 'Our Town' for our time," "The Pavilion" is a tender portrait of two former lovers who encounter each other at a high-school reunion. Is happily ever after still possible... or is that just in fairy tales? A terrific cast takes the stage for this enthralling and lyrical play about the mysteries of forgiveness.

"The Pavilion" stars three talented local actors: Jeff Coté of Santa Rosa as the Narrator, Nathan Cummings of Petaluma as Peter, and San Francisco's Sami Granberg in her Cinnabar debut as Kari. The play is directed by Tara Blau of Mill Valley and underwritten by the Klebe Family.

Tickets to "The Pavilion" cost $35 for adults and $25 for ages 21 and under. Tickets are also available at a significant discount as part of a subscription to two, three, or five shows, with extra savings for youth and seniors.

Every year, Cinnabar Theater produces a thrilling mix of plays, musicals, operas, and concerts in a remarkable range of genres. Cinnabar's Young Rep offers extensive activities for local youth, and the Cinnabar Chamber Singers welcome anyone who wants to be part of a chorus. All these events take place in the iconic red schoolhouse perched atop a grassy hill on the outskirts of Petaluma.

Audiences have flocked to performances in this intimate setting since 1972, when Marvin and Jan Klebe established an arts center for the community. Along with their sons, they transformed a charming 1908 schoolhouse into a jewel-box theater that has hosted successful shows for four decades. Now Cinnabar is preparing another year of lively performances for its loyal audience.

Cinnabar Theater is located at 3333 Petaluma Boulevard North, just off Highway 101 and only minutes from historic downtown Petaluma. There's ample parking up on the hill... and a friendly herd of goats grazing in the neighboring field. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 707-763-8920 or visit cinnabartheater.org.
