This summer, Cinnabar Theater is thrilled to host the last local performances for two respected artists before they jet off to present their shows in internationally acclaimed venues. Savor Denise Perrier's tribute concert to Dinah Washington before she performs at Lincoln Center in New York City or enjoy David Templeton's Wretch Like Me before it heads to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Europe! Plus, Cinnabar's Young Rep also offers up its delightful production of Grease. Here are all the details on these exciting events:

August 3:
Denise Perrier's on the road to Lincoln Center with Dinah Washington.

Hear San Francisco jazz legend Denise Perrier in her final local performance before she sings at Lincoln Center! Get a sneak peek at the incredible evening audiences in Manhattan will enjoy when this chanteuse gives a tribute concert in honor of Dinah Washington's 90th birthday. Denise takes you on a musical exploration of Dinah's marvelous music. She'll perform songs identified with the iconic star, including "What a Difference a Day Made," "Unforgettable," and "Lover, Come Back to Me" - and she'll appear beautifully gowned, wearing Dinah's signature tiara and furs. Save the airfare and experience this exquisite concert right here in Cinnabar's intimate theater on Sunday, August 3 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $26 in advance or $30 at the door.

July 25-26:
See Wretch Like Me before it heads to Europe!

David Templeton brings his award-winning solo show to Cinnabar - last stop before the Edinburgh Fringe Festival! It's a fiercely funny coming-of-age tale about his teenage years as a fundamentalist puppeteer. This summer, David will be Sonoma County's theatrical ambassador in Scotland when he gives 14 performances of Wretch Like Me at the world's largest theater festival. Help send him off in style! This show has been reimagined, stripped-down and re-written for Edinburgh, with insightful, vivid, and heartwarming new direction by Sheri Lee Miller. Come give them a warm send-off on Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26 at 8:00 PM. These are the final performances before they fly across the pond! Tickets are only $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

July 18-20 & August 1-3:
Cinnabar's Young Rep presents Grease.

Be there or be square! This summer, the creative kids in Cinnabar's Young Rep present the original high-school musical. Grease became a blockbuster on Broadway and on film for its funny, romantic story told through beloved songs such as "We Go Together," "Summer Nights," and "Greased Lightnin'." This version of the show is G-rated and appropriate for all ages. The first weekend features more than 65 adorable children aged 6 to 11 years old performing on Friday, July 18 at 7:30 PM; Saturday, July 19 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM; and Sunday, July 20 at 2:00 PM. Grease will also be performed by a cast of 25 talented teens on Friday, August 1 at 7:30 PM; Saturday, August 2 at 7:30 PM; and Sunday, August 3 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are only $15 for adults or $10 for ages 21 and under.

Get tickets for these events online at any time by visiting cinnabartheater.org, or call the box office at 707-763-8920 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on weekdays. Tickets may also be available at the door, but reservations are recommended as Cinnabar's shows often sell out.

Every year, Cinnabar Theater produces a thrilling mix of plays, musicals, operas, and concerts in a remarkable range of genres. Cinnabar's Young Rep offers extensive activities for local youth, and the Cinnabar Singers welcome anyone who wants to be part of a chorus. All these events take place in the iconic red schoolhouse perched atop a grassy hill on the outskirts of Petaluma.

Audiences have flocked to performances in this intimate setting since 1972, when Marvin and Jan Klebe established an arts center for the community. Along with their sons, they transformed a charming 1908 schoolhouse into a jewel-box theater that has hosted successful shows for four decades. Now Cinnabar is launching another year of lively performances for its loyal audience.

Cinnabar Theater is located at 3333 Petaluma Boulevard North, just off Highway 101 and only minutes from historic downtown Petaluma. There's ample parking up on the hill... and a friendly herd of goats grazing in the neighboring field. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 707-763-8920 or visit cinnabartheater.org.
