Broadway San Jose, a Nederlander Presentation, welcomes the return of Broadway's record-breaking, Tony Award-winning musical smash CHICAGO to San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts(255 S. Almaden Blvd.) for a limited engagement from Thursday, November 15 through Sunday, November 18, 2018. With a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, CHICAGO is now the #1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history-and it still shows no sign of ever slowing down! Single tickets ($33-$138) are on-sale now at www.broadwaysanjose.com, in-person at the City National Civic Box Office (150 W. San Carlos St., San Jose), or by calling 800-982-ARTS (2787). Ticket packages and President's Club Memberships are also available. Group orders of 10 or more may be placed by calling 669-242-8559. Ticket prices are subject to change without notice.

The performance schedule for CHICAGO is as follows: Thursday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 16 at 8 p.m. (press night); Saturday, November 17 at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.; and Sunday, November 18 at 1 p.m. & 6:30 p.m.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.

The national tour is directed by David Hyslop and choreographed by David Bushman. Walter Bobbie is the director of the original New York Production andAnn Reinking was the original choreographer in the style of Bob Fosse. CHICAGOfeatures set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer. The production also features orchestrations by Ralph Burns, supervising music direction by Rob Fisher.

Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, CHICAGO is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

CHICAGO is a production not to be missed. And all the reviewers agree. Timemagazine calls it "A triumph," Newsweek raves "Smashing" and Entertainment Weekly sums it up by calling CHICAGO "Broadway's most electrifying show."

CHICAGO is presented as part of the Broadway San Jose 2018-19 season.

Broadway San Jose is a partnership between The Nederlander Organization of New York and Team San Jose, the managing entity for San Jose's publicly-held performance venues and civic centers.
