'Blues in the Night' Sings Final San Francisco Song Oct.14

The San Francisco production of the critically acclaimed Blues in the Night will play its final performance on Sunday, October 14 at 7PM having played 71 performances and 7 previews.

Blues in the Night premiered at San Francisco's Post Street Theatre on August 15, 2007.  Conceived & directed by Sheldon Epps and starring Maurice Hines, Freda Payne, Carol Woods and Paulette Ivory, Blues in the Night focuses on the relationships between three delicious females and one lonely guy, their interweaving stories told through the music of Benny Goodman, Bessie Smith, Duke Ellington and other blues and jazz legends of the 1920s and 30s. The Broadway production opened on June 2, 1982 at the Rialto Theatre and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical. The show then moved to London where it ran for nearly a year and was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Musical of the Year. Woods also received an Olivier Award nomination for Outstanding Performance of the Year by an Actress in a Musical.

Blues in the Night is now playing at San Francisco's Post Street Theatre (450 Post Street, 2nd floor) through Sunday, October 14. The performance schedule is: Tuesday through Friday evenings at 8PM, Saturdays at 2PM & 8PM and Sundays at 2PM & 7PM.

Tickets range in price from $40 - $75 and are available at the Post Street Theatre box office, by phone at 415-771-6900 and on the web at www.ticketmaster.com.

A limited number of $30 tickets are available at the Post Street Theatre box office two hours prior to every performance.
