Diane and Nat are strangers, trapped in a house in the countryside. If they leave they risk being attacked, their eyes pecked out and their bodies left to rot. They must find a way to survive, to escape their prison even as the secrets and lies between them grow deeper and more deadly.
Blue Panther Productions in association with Symmetry Theatre Company presents the Bay Area Premiere of The Birds, Conor McPherson's adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's classic thriller.
McPherson's (The Seafarer) tense, claustrophobic adaptation will keep audiences on The Edge of their seats. Alfred Hitchcock fans will love this edgier version, which includes elements of his iconic 1963 horror film.
Directed by Chloe Bronzan, starring Martha Brigham*, Kevin Kieta, Laura Lundy, and Robert Parsons *, The Birds has an exclusive 3 weekend run in the Carriage House of Oakland's 1869 Pardee Home, a part of the estate rarely open to the public.

Performances are October 21-November 6. Thursdays, Sundays and Halloween - 7:00 pm; Fridays and Saturdays - 8:00 pm. at Oakland's Pardee Home, Historic Museum & Carriage House, 672 11th Street, Oakland 94607.
The Birds is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc, New York.
A Word from the Director
I'm excited to be staging the production in this venue because the Pardee Home Carriage House echoes both Du Maurier and McPherson's location descriptions. Furthermore, I believe this environment will create a visceral experience for the audience, immersing them more directly into the world of the play alongside its characters, inevitably creating a more invested sense of fear. This is a rare opportunity to see a part of the property that is not usually open to the public or visited on guided tours.
