Bay Area Musicals Continues Third Season with THE WEDDING SINGER ImageBay Area Musicals!, the newest non-profit theatrical organization to join the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area arts community, continues its third season with the rocking 80s parody musical, The Wedding Singer, based on the acclaimed Adam Sandler film.

The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Featuring a sparkling new score, The Wedding Singer does for the 80s what Hairspray did for the 60s. Just say 'yes' to the most romantic musical in twenty years.

The Wedding Singer will perform February 17-March 17, 2018 at San Francisco's Victoria Theatre (2961 16th Street). Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m. Press nights for The Wedding Singer will be Saturday, February 17 at 8 p.m. and Friday, February 23 at 8 p.m. Single tickets for regular performances range in price from $35-$60. Tickets for preview performances (Thursday, February 15 at 8 p.m. and Friday, February 16 at 8 p.m.) are $20. Tickets for the opening night fundraiser on Saturday, February 17 are $100 and include an opening night party with the cast immediately following the performance. All proceeds from the opening night fundraiser ticket sales will benefit future Bay Area Musical! projects and productions. Tickets are available now by calling 415-340-2207 or visiting www.bamsf.org.

It's 1985 and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

Says Matthew McCoy, director of The Wedding Singer and Founder & Artistic Director of Bay Area Musicals!: "Thinking back on the shows I had the absolute most fun at on Broadway, The Wedding Singer always comes to mind. It is a perfect celebration of 80s pop music, pop culture, and, of course, big hair and neon leg warmers! I look forward to welcoming audiences to the Victoria Theater this spring for an evening of laughs and nostalgia."

The Wedding Singer features a cast of 22 Bay Area actors. They are: Zac Schuman (Robbie Hart), Jenny Angel (Julia), Jepoy Ramos (Glen), Alissa Sanchez (Holly), Max Thorne (Sammy), Max Hing (George), Kaylyn Dowd (Linda), Donna Turner (Rosie), Dana Lewenthal (Julia's Mom), Joey Alvarado (Julia's Dad), Alicia von Kugelgen (Various Ensemble), Scott Dilorenzo (Various Ensemble), Sean McGrory (Ensemble), Kamren Manahaney (Ensemble), Carlos Geurrero (Ensemble), Patrick Brewer (Ensemble), Michael Cai (Ensemble), Julio Chavez (Ensemble), Liz Marsh (Ensemble), Maddie Larson (Ensemble), Loreigna Sinclair (Ensemble), and Pauli Amornkul (Ensemble).

Directed by McCoy, the creative team for The Wedding Singer includes choreographer Leslie Waggoner, music director Jon Gallo, stage manager Cat Knight, costume designer Brooke Jennings, lighting designer Courtney Johnson, sound designer Anton Hedman, and prop designer Clay David.

Bay Area Musicals! would like toacknowledge its 2017-18 company sponsors: ElectroRent, Marsh Interiors, BARTable, Water Logic, Hilton Union Square, Forth Point Brewery, Hilton Union Square, the Performing Arts Academy of Marin, and the Bay Area Reporter.
