The Bay Area Children's Theatre (BACT) will open its 2016-2017 season Saturday, June 25, with Good Night, Good Night, Construction Site-The Musical, a tune-filled re-imagining of the New York Times bestselling picture book about hard-working construction vehicles by Sherri Duskey Rinker, with illustrations by Tom Lichtenheld.
Good Night, Good Night, Construction Site-The Musical plays at 10:30am and 2pm on Saturdays and 10:30am and 4pm on Sundays at Children's Fairyland, 699 Bellevue Ave, Oakland, CA 94610, through July 31st. From Oakland, the play moves to the Children's Creativity Museum, 221 4th St, San Francisco where it plays weekends at 10:30am and 1pm from August 6th through Sunday, August 28.
Playwright, lyricist and composer Austin Zumbro, the creative force behind BACT's acclaimed The Day the Crayons Quit-the Musical, has adapted the story for the stage, complete with music, rhyme and gentle winks to parents about the familiar antics and personalities of the busy vehicles.
The play is directed by Nina Meehan and is recommended for all ages.
