Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company announces the four play submissions chosen as finalists for the Global Age Project (GAP), the company's new works initiative that promotes the creation of forward-looking theatre.

They include: American Whupass by Justin Warner; Over The Mountain by Brian Thorstenson; Happyslap by Laura Jacqmin; and Learn To Be Latina by Enrique Urueta.

Renowned playwright Craig Lucas (The Light in the Piazza, Prelude to a Kiss) will present a commissioned new work, Subterranea, as the keystone play of the readings.

Plays will be presented as staged readings in a 5-week festival at the Aurora Theatre, April 16 through May 14 at 7:30PM. Each reading will be followed by a discussion about the issues raised in each work.
