Judy Gold
Jewdy, Jewdy, Jewdy
AN EVENING OF STAND-UP COMEDY
Emmy Award winning comedian Judy Gold is so excited to be returning to San Francisco to perform Jewdy, Jewdy, Jewdy - An evening of Stand Up Comedy. The star of the critically acclaimed off Broadway hit, "25 Questions for a Jewish Mother" has a lot to say about being the mother of 2 boys and an out lesbian comic. There is no stone unturned - her mother, anti-depressants, nursing homes, parenting, gay marriage - and, of course, what she truly thinks about her kids - they are annoying, expensive, and they better pluck out her chin hairs when she's in the Hebrew Home for the Aged. Gay or straight, Black or White, Jew or non-denominational neurotic, Judy will make you laugh your ass off - and with America's high rate of obesity that's a good thing.

Judy Gold received a 2006 Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance for her hit off-Broadway show 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother. In addition, the show won the 2007 GLAAD Media Award and the book by the same name was nominated for the 2007 Quill Award. Judy's new show, It's Jewdy's Show - My Life as a Sitcom debuted to rave reviews in Washington DC, and is featured at this year's Williamstown Theatre Festival. Most recently, Judy was seen in Nora & Delia Ephron's Off-Broadway show Love, Loss and What I Wore. Judy is a regular cast member of Tru TV's The Smoking Gun. Gold is seen regularly on The Joy Behar Show. Judy recently appeared on Ugly Betty and The Wendy Williams Show. Gold has co-hosted ABC's The View where she has appeared numerous times. She was the host of HBO's At the Multiplex with Judy Gold from 1999-2009.She also hosted Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time, and the GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS. Her TV specials include a half-hour comedy special for LOGO and she is featured in the HBO documentary, All Aboard, and the documentaries, Making Trouble and I am Comic. Her stand-up specials include Comedy Central Presents: Judy Gold, Comedy Central's Tough Crowd Stands Up, and Judy's HBO half-hour special, for which she received a Cable Ace Award. Gold was seen in the smash hit film The Aristocrats. Gold won two Emmy Awards for writing and producing The Rosie O'Donnell Show. She was nominated twice for The American Comedy Award's funniest female stand-up. She has also appeared on Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, Sex and The City, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and The Conan O'Brien Show.

Monica Mancini
Concord Records recording artist and double-Grammy nominee Monica Mancini, daughter of famed film composer Henry Mancini and the notable studio singer Ginny O'Conner Mancini, has carved out an impressive career as a concert performer, appearing with major symphony orchestras worldwide, including the Chicago Symphony, the New York Pops, the Boston Pops, the Dallas Symphony, the Seattle Symphony, and the London Metropolitan Orchestra.
She began singing early on as a member of the Henry Mancini Chorus, which led to a successful career in the Los Angeles studios, where she appeared on countless film scores and recordings with such notable artists as Plácido Domingo, Quincy Jones, and Michael Jackson. Her debut CD, simply titled Monica Mancini, was the companion to her PBS television special, Monica Mancini: On Record. Her latest release, the Billboard chart-topping and double Grammy-nominated Concord Records album Ultimate Mancini, finds Monica and some very special guest artists, including Stevie Wonder, Take 6, Kenny Rankin, Gary Burton, Joey DeFrancesco, and Tom Scott, paying tribute to her father.

In summer 2010, Monica Mancini will release her fifth album, I've Loved These Days, a collection of classic '60s songs featuring the original artists, including Stevie Wonder, BrIan Wilson, and Jackson Browne, with arrangements for full orchestra. Composer John Williams writes: "Monica Mancini brings her talent, musicality, and most of all, love to the music, and proves that the passage of musical genes didn't stop with the Bachs, Strausses, or Ellingtons!"

Marilu Henner
Marilu Henner is one of our most energetic actresses. She has shined on stage, brilliantly reviewed in Broadway's hit musical Chicago. She has starred in the long running Emmy-winning comedy series Taxi (nominated for 5 Golden Globes as Best Actress) and Evening Shade. MARILU returned to the movie screen with Jim Carrey in the critically acclaimed movie Man on the Moon. Her book, "Marilu Henner's Total Health Makeover" reached the New York Times Best Seller List. In it, MARILU shares the knowledge and discipline that she has gathered to maintain one of the most energetic and concentration-demanding schedules in show business. Whatever health books you come across by Marilu Henner, be sure to buy them. Whatever advice she's giving in them, it sure works, as she, herself, demonstrates in her cabaret debut. She was a bundle of energy that never seemed to let down. Her opening number, "Zip," featured special additional lyrics by her brother, Lorin Henner, loaded with contemporary cultural references from David Sedaris to Anna Faris.
Her appearance at the Gardenia was particularly appropriate for her, as she described how she used to drive past the club on her way to Paramount to film the TV series Taxi, and thinking about wanting to play there. The show followed a biographical path and the fact that a large flat screen television was in position behind her could have meant an ego-driven journey through her career highlights. Instead, it served to offer up an opportunity for her to deliver some self-deprecating humor, as she showed a selection of early career moments as well as a hilarious mix of suggestive talk show appearances.

Always in command of her voice, she shined on both belt and pop numbers. Her early career as a body part model served to provide a forum for a body part medley, including "Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair," "Cheek to Cheek," and "Redneck Woman." If you see this Taxi driver in your neighborhood, be sure to flag her down, as she will give you a helluva ride.
Marilu Henner runs for 3 performances only Friday-Sunday, Aug 6-8 at 7:00 PM. The RRazz room at Hotel Nikko is located at 222 Mason Street (at Ellis), San Francisco, CA 94102. Tickets are $40 with a two-drink minimum. For reservations call 866.468.3399 or visit:

VONDA SHEPARD
Vonda's newest release, From the Sun (Bos Music/2008), leans toward a stripped-down, R&B vibe...ballads and rollicking good times. As the voice of Ally McBeal, Vonda sold more than 12 million records worldwide throughout the span of the hit TV show.
From The Sun finds her indie roots firmly planted. Infusing her deep and melodic songwriting style with splashes of powerful vocals, From The Sun is also Vonda's first studio release since 2003 and her fourth collaboration with legendary producer Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Elvis Costello, Randy Newman). Froom describes the album as "modern-day soul" with Vonda's solid piano playing and soulful, blues-inspired voice driving the tracks.

At the age of 14, Vonda Shepard began performing original material at small venues on the L.A. club scene. Having released five of her own studio albums of original material since then and four soundtracks for the series "Ally McBeal," as well as having sold over 12 million albums worldwide, Vonda Shepard is without any doubt among today's very best singer/songwriters. For five years Vonda Shepard was the featured performer and musical voice on "Ally McBeal." "Searchin' My Soul" was used as the series' theme, but Shepard herself became a regular cast member, playing the house performer at the local nightclub the program's title character and her co-workers frequented.
VONDA SHEPARD runs for 2 performances only Friday-Saturday, Aug 6-7 at 9:00 PM. The RRazz room at Hotel Nikko is located at 222 Mason Street (at Ellis), San Francisco, CA 94102. Tickets are $45 with a two-drink minimum. For reservations call 866.468.3399 or visit:

Soon after, she made her Broadway debut in the original cast of the Tony Award-winning production of Hairspray and went on to be the first replacement for the famed green-skinned witch Elphaba in the Broadway sensation Wicked. In addition to theatrical and concert appearances across the country, she has performed on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Martha Stewart, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, MTV's Made, and Soul Train Christmas Starfest, to name a few. Shoshana has been a back-up singer for an endless list of superstars including: Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Destiny's Child, N'Sync, Ray Charles, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson at KTU's Miracle on 34th street and Michael Jackson: 30 Anniversary Celebration, both at Madison Square Garden. She gained national attention when she teamed up with Grammy Award nominee Brian McKnight to honor Aretha Franklin on the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards. The duo performed Franklin's classic "Ain't No Way" on the nationally broadcast show, prompting a live audience to erupt into a standing ovation before the song was over. Her work as a singer/songwriter has been featured on MTV's The Hills and Mercy. Franc D'Ambrosio
"I'll Be Seeing Youz..." A Bronx Boy's Music Perspective Of World War II
Franc D'Ambrosio is best known as the "Phantom" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award winning Musical, The Phantom Of The Opera. Affectionately known as Phantom's "The Iron Man of The Mask," D'Ambrosio was awarded the distinction as the "Worlds Longest Running Phantom. " This accomplishment was immortalized in a cemented hand ceremony and Franc retained this title for over a decade. D'Ambrosio's resume also includes an Academy Award Nominated film, an Emmy Award Nominated television show, a four time Tony nominated Broadway show, Two Grammy Considerations, and a National Theatre Award Nomination. Early in D'Ambrosio's career, Paramount Pictures sent five talent scouts on an exhausting two year international search. That search ended when they discovered D'Ambrosio in the chorus of his first Broadway show. Francis Ford Coppola immediately cast D'Ambrosio as Anthony Corleone, the opera singing son of Al Pacino in Coppola's seven time Academy Award nominated film Godfather III. Franc not only had the honor of starring in the film, he also sang the Academy Award winning theme song, "Speak Softly Love" (Brucia la Terra) - both in the film and on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. This performance of the award winning song so impressed the late Luciano Pavarotti that it led to an invitation - which was quickly accepted - for him to study with the legendary tenor, for a summer, at his home in Italy. So began this varied and noteworthy career. After his impressive run as The Phantom Of The Opera, D'Ambrosio caught the eye of Barry Manilow. Manilow personally selected him to create and star as the male lead, "Tony," in the pre-Broadway tour of Copacabana. The show enjoyed a successful year long tour. His performance earned D'Ambrosio his National Theatre Award nomination for Best Male Performer in a Musical.

Franc D'Ambrosio has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe and South America with his critically acclaimed one man shows: Franc D'Ambrosio'S BROADWAY Songs of The Great White Way, (debut 2004) and Franc D'Ambrosio'S HOLLYWOOD Songs of The Silver Screen (debut 2007). D'Ambrosio is also a frequent guest artist with many major American orchestras and symphonies (Pop Series). With the success of his national and international tours, D'Ambrosio has joined the ranks of the famed Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman as only a handful of Phantom alumni crossing over to successful solo careers. Recognized for his vibrant voice and legato singing, D'Ambrosio was invited by the Olympic Champion Brian Boitano to perform as a Special Musical Guest in the skater's NBC special Brian Boitano's Skating Spectacular. The TV special starred D'Ambrosio and American Idol runner-up Diana De Garmo. D'Ambrosio also joined Boitano in his next TV special, The 2005 Tribute to Movies on Ice. He starred as Special Musical Guest with Michael Bolton and American Idol Kimberly Locke. Franc's performance of "Music of the Night," skated to by Boitano, received the evening's only standing ovation. While continuously touring with his popular one-man shows, D'Ambrosio found time in 2008 to co-star with Dorothy Hamill in the critically acclaimed Broadway On Ice, produced by Bietak Productions, Inc. D'Ambrosio rounded out the busy year (2008) starring with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra in a spectacular New Years Eve performance. His new show -- Franc D'Ambrosio - "I'll Be Seeing YOUZ..." A Bronx Boys Musical Perspective Of World War II -- will feature more stories from Franc's colorful family and popular war songs from 1939-1946. Don't miss the West Coast debut!
Franc D'Ambrosio "I'LL BE SEEING YOUZ..." A BRONX BOY'S MUSIC PERSPECTIVE OF WORLD WAR II runs for 6 performances only Tuesday-Sunday, August 17-22 at 7:00 PM. Jacqui Naylor & Her Trio
Jacqui Naylor is not an easy artist to categorize. There are times when she performs straight-ahead vocal jazz, but at other times she favors more of a folk-rock/adult alternative approach. Depending on the mood she is in at a given moment, the northern Californian can bring to mind anyone from Cassandra Wilson or British jazz vocalist Claire Martin to Sarah McLachlan or Shawn Colvin -- she is as comfortable among jazz improvisers as she is in the singer/songwriter world. During one of her live performances, Naylor has no problem singing smoky jazz one minute and folk-rock or adult alternative the next -- and there are times when she blurs the line between the two.

Naylor, who is very jazz-friendly but far from a rigid jazz purist, brings a long list of influences to her introspective work -- influences ranging from Billie Holiday, June Christy, and Nina Simone to Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, Carole King, and Sheryl Crow. That is an unlikely combination of influences, certainly, but it is one that works well for Naylor (who has used all of them to fashion a personal, recognizable style of her own). Naylor has a highly diverse repertoire; on-stage, she is likely to perform a Tin Pan Alley standard right after something by the Rolling Stones or Talking Heads (in addition to performing songs of her own). Naylor is not an overly aggressive or forceful type of singer; she favors subtlety, restraint, and understatement, which are things that Holiday and Christy (one of the goddesses of jazz's cool school) were both masters of.

Naylor became a recording artist in the late '90s, recording her self-titled debut album in 1998 and releasing it on her own independent label, Ruby Star Records, the following year. She went on to record several more Ruby Star releases in the 2000s, including Live at the Plush Room in 2001, Shelter in 2003, the two-CD set Live East/West: Birdland/Yoshi's in 2005, The Color Five in 2006, Smashed for the Holidays in 2007 and You Don't Know Jacq in 2008.

During the last three years, Taylor Hicks has seen his eponymous debut album (Arista/2006) certified platinum, performed with the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, The Allman Brothers and Willie Nelson, toured through Asia, penned a brisk-selling Random House memoir, and made his Broadway debut in Grease.

In March 2009, the platinum-selling singer/songwriter released his latest album, The Distance, with complete control of direction and ownership of his masters on his solely owned and operated, Modern Whomp Records label via Artist To Market (A2M). Produced by Simon Climie (Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Faith Hill), and tapping the talents of guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, bassist Nathan East and drummer Abe Laboriel Jr., The Distance features eleven tracks, including his latest single "Seven Mile Breakdown." This country-driven track not only highlights Taylor's versatility, but also showcases that country-soul influence that shines through during his live performances.
Taylor Hicks runs for 1 performance only Wednesday, August 25 at 7:30 PM. The RRazz room at Hotel Nikko is located at 222 Mason Street (at Ellis), San Francisco, CA 94102. Tickets are $47.50 ($75 Limited VIP) with a two-drink minimum. For reservations call 866.468.3399 or visit:

Oleta Adams
Since the runaway success of her debut album Circle of One (Fontana Island/1990) and the impassioned hit single "Get Here" - the Brenda Russell composition that became an unofficial anthem of the 1991 Gulf War - Oleta Adams has inspired a growing legion of fans in the U.S. and Europe with journeys of the heart, songs that draw deeply from her roots in Gospel, while crossing effortlessly into the realms of soul, R&B, urban, and popular music. Her success, nurtured by worldwide tours with Tears for Fears, Michael Bolton, and Luther Vandross have been solidified by three Grammy nominations and a seemingly bottomless well of creative energy. Oleta has earned her devoted fan base by staying with the essentials: honest, soulful vocals, unforgettable songs, and uplifting arrangements. Her new CD Let's Stay Here (Koch Records/2009) is prime Oleta: she delivers each song's message with grace, clarity, and quiet power, whether it's her own composition or a classic cover, such as the version of Nina Simone's "Feelin' Good" that was central to the 2007-8 Buick campaign. Let's Stay Here is a new statement of pure soul, ten messages of hope and love for our tough times.
Oleta Adams runs for 4 performance only Thursday-Friday, August 26-27 at 8:00 PM and Saturday, August 28 at 7 and 9:30 PM.
