Founded in 1981 by artistic director Stanley E. Williams and executive director Quentin Easter, LHT develops and presents works that explore, celebrate, and reflect the lives of African-Americans, believing this important cultural expression to be an indispensable part of the American culture -- African-American stories are American stories. Lorraine Hansberry Theatre is one of the leading African-American theatres in the country.  Under Mr. Williams' leadership, Lorraine Hansberry Theatre has received numerous awards and recognitions for their innovative programming.  For more information about Stanley E. AfroSolo TV is a 22-minutes in-depth talk show featuring AfroSolo's artistic director Thomas Robert Simpson in conversation with prominent San Francisco Bay Area Black artists, entertainment figures and distinguished cultural authorities.  It airs on the first and third Fridays of each month at 6:30 pm on Comcast Cable Station 76.
