American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), in conjunction with Break-Away Tours, will be leading a theater tour this holiday season to London, England, December 28 – January 4, 2008. A tentative itinerary includes three West End Theater Productions, excursions, interaction with expert guides, and discussions with theater professionals, as well as six nights of first-class hotel accommodation.
"In addition to excursions and the sheer pleasure of the holidays in London, the tour places a strong emphasis on seeing exciting theater…including a landmark production at the Royal National Theatre, National Theatre Director Nicholas Hytner's interpretation of Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing, starring Zoë Wanamaker and Simon Russell Beale, as well as a revival of Glengarry Glen Ross, starring Jonathan Pryce. Also included in the tour package will be a West End musical, to be announced 30 days before the beginning of the tour," explain press notes.
In addition to theater opportunities, the tour package includes guided walking tours, excursions to Windsor Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon (the birthplace of Shakespeare), full English breakfast daily, and discussions with British theater professionals. A.C.T. and Break-Away Tours have collaborated on the London yuletide tour for more than a decade and have led groups of up to 50 guests.
