On the heels of their recent GRAMMY nomination, The Danish String Quartet, one of the leading quartets of their generation, continues their three-year La Jolla Music Society residency with five concerts from November 16-23, 2019 at The Baker Baum Concert Hall celebrating the 250th anniversary of Beethovens birth. The PRISM Project is a series of musical sets based on the historical and musical impact of Bachs seminal fugal writing, the final Beethoven string quartets, and compositions which were born out of these fundamentally influential works, including quartets by Shostakovich, Schnittke, Bartk, Mendelssohn, and Webern. The title refers to a beam of music being split through Beethovens prism.
