Write Out Loud - the San Diego theatre company devoted to performing short stories on-stage and out loud - presents Ladies' Night Out - an evening about the delights of being and knowing women - on Monday, April 25 at 7:00 pm at the Old Town Theatre.
Artistic Director, Veronica Murphy describes the program as "a delicious romp with hangover and heartache attached. Like so much good fiction, these stories entertain and devastate at the same time."
Featured in Ladies' Night Out are Linda Libby, reading Night Clubby Katherine Brush - the intimate story of a ladies lounge attendant (remember those?); Amanda Sitton reading Portrait of Ladies by Mark Schorer - two women tangling with an inebriated husband; and Amy Perkins (from Cygnet's current Rocky Horror Show) bringing the angst and imagination of youth to The First Flower by Augusta Wallace Lyons. Murphy will read poetry by Rilke, Angelou, Parker and more. David McBean makes a "special" guest appearance as the emcee and Walter Ritter completes the lineup with Getting Along with Women by E.B. White.
A complimentary champagne reception will start at 6:15pm on the theatre's patio.
