Write Out Loud Awarded California Arts Council “Organizational Development” Grant Image

The California Arts Council announced its plans to award $4,980 to Write Out Loud as part of its Organizational Development program.

The Organizational Development program builds nonprofit arts organizations' capacity for success through small grants to support consulting services. The program seeks to increase access to best practices in nonprofit management to strengthen an organization's operations, as well as to develop long and short term impacts through assessment and training modules led by field expertise.

With this support from the California Arts Council, Write Out Loud (WOL) will hire Marketing Consultant, Lizbeth Persons Price, to evaluate WOL's current marketing efforts and create a plan using reasonable resources and nonprofit marketing best practices to draw a road map for advancing the organizational goals.

Write Out Loud Artistic Director, Veronica Murphy shared "We are so thankful to be the recipients of this grant from the California Arts Council. It will help us strengthen the infrastructure of the organization as we expand our literacy based programming throughout the county. Streamlining our marketing efforts with the help of a marketing professional will serve all of Write Out Loud's programming, now and in the future."

Write Out Loud is one of 102 grantees chosen for this program. The award was featured as part of a larger announcement from the California Arts Council.

"The California Arts Council recognizes the indelible value of its collaborators in a shared vision-a better world because of the arts," said Nashormeh Lindo, California Arts Council Chair. "That vision is contingent upon building the capacity of arts organizations like Write Out Loud, a core element for its success."
