Towne Street Theatre will take part in an important national dialogue and theatre event, Gun Control Theatre Action. The "24 Gun Control Plays," a collection of short plays from NoPassport Press: Dreaming the Americas Series, will be performed by various theatre companies throughout the United States during the week of May 27, 2013.

Towne Street Theatre will present a reading of seven of the "24 Gun Control Plays" on Saturday, June 1 at 8:00 pm. A free event, presented for one-night only at the Attic Theatre, 5429 West Washington Boulevard (at Hauser), LA, CA 90016, with a discussion immediately following the performance. To make reservations, please contact Towne Street Theatre at info@townestreet.org.

The history of this project stems from a presentation at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. on January 26, 2013. NoPassport Theatre Alliance and Press in collaboration with force/collision, Theatre J and Twinbiz NYC commissioned and presented an evening of short works in support of gun control. The performance pieces, except where noted, were written expressly for this event through direct commission or sent in to NoPassport via an open call. The plays may be performed as stand-alone pieces or assembled in an order to make a marathon event of theatre.
