The UC San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance presents New Directions 2018, directed by Yolande Snaith

About the performance: undergraduate choreographers test the boundaries of movement and embodiment with inventive new works, featuring undergraduate dance students.

New Directions runs June 7-9 at 7:30pm. Performances are at the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre in the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theatre District on UC San Diego's campus: 2910 La Jolla Village Drive, La Jolla, CA. For information about parking, please see the website.

Tickets are $20 for regular performances. Subscriptions and group rates are available. Student tickets are $10 for regular performances. Faculty, staff, alumni and senior citizens discounts available as well. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at (858) 534-4574.

The production features choreography by Jeevika Bhat, Olivia Carter, Jordan Daley, London Davis, Alexander Ebalo, Astrid Espitia, El' Estro Löver, Elena Magaña, Emilie Nzihou, Luci Patrick, and Liyen Tan.

The cast of dancers includes Jeevika Bhat, Olivia Carter, Jordan Daley, Alexander Ebalo, Elena Magaña, Emilie Nzihou, Luci Patrick, Samantha Schroeder, London Davis, Nicolette Nguyen, Blanca Pineda, Donna Reina, El' Estro Löver, Luci Patrick, and Liyen Tan.

The creative team includes Yolande Snaith (Director), Samuel Keamy-Minor (Scenic Designer), Mextly Almeda (Co-Lighting Designer), Justin Beets (Co-Lighting Designer), Tyler Larson (Production Stage Manager), and Rosanna Wong (Assistant Stage Manager).

About the director: Yolande Snaith's choreographic and performing career spans thirty years. Her range of artistic engagement is broad, from solo performance work to group choreography and dance theatre, choreographic commissions and improvisation ensemble practice. Her work has been presented internationally in more fifteen countries, and she has created several dance films in collaboration with renowned film directors. Yolande has been commissioned to choreograph works for dance, theatre and opera companies internationally.
