The Old Globe Theatre has announced their May event schedule:

May 24, 2010 at 7 p.m.? Old Globe Theatre
Craig Noel MEMORIAL SERVICE
A memorial service, “Celebrating the Theatrical Legacy of Craig Noel,” will be held at the Old Globe Theatre on Monday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. A reception will be held on the theater’s Copley Plaza following the service.
Tickets: The memorial service is free and open to all. Reservations are required.

GOLDA’S BALCONY

Golda’s Balcony follows the trajectory of the life of Golda Meir from Russian immigrant to American schoolteacher to a leader of international policies as the fourth Prime Minister of Israel. Tovah Feldshuh delivers a tour de force portrait of Meir in William Gibson’s (The Miracle Worker, Two for the Seesaw) award-winning drama. From the pogroms of Russia to the halls of the Knesset, Meir’s life – and the play – encapsulates the dramatic story of Israel in the 20th century.
Previews April 28 - May 1, opens May 1, closes May 30.

THE WHIPPING MAN

Set in Virginia following the final days of the Civil War, a Jewish Confederate soldier returns to his childhood home, only to find it in ruins and occupied by his former slaves, who are preparing for a Seder. Though a new chapter of history is unfolding, dangerous secrets of the past threaten to destroy their family, their connected history, and their shared faith. The Whipping Man is a moving and provocative look at a pivotal time in American history.
