Scripps Ranch Theatre and Oceanside Theatre Company Co Produce OUTSIDE MULLINGAR

Scripps Ranch Theatre, located on the campus of Alliant Int'l University in Scripps Ranch has opened OUTSIDE MULLINGAR, by John Patrick Shanley, a co-production with Oceanside Theatre Company. The production runs from January 19th - February 18th at Scripps Ranch Theatre. Outside Mullingar continues its run with Oceanside Theatre Company housed at the Brooks Theatre from February 23rd - March 11th.

Outside Mullingar is directed by veteran San Diego Arts Leader Kathy Brombacher. Brombacher is the founding Artistic Director/Producer of Moonlight Stage Productions in Vista and shared "I am delighted to be working with these extraordinary actors on a play which is crafted with wit and charm by John Patrick Shanley. The play is about two Irish farming families living side by side in the country who are eccentric, dynamic and funny. Jim Chovick and Stephen Schmitz as father and son are riddled with conflicts over the land and family pride. Vanessa Dinning and Dagmar Fields as daughter and mother pit themselves against the neighboring farmers over a piece of disputed land. The hidden romance between daughter and son who are in their forties is written with lyricism, emotional depth and surprises which in the hands of these four actors has had us both laughing and tearing up in rehearsal. We hope audiences will do the same."

Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) was formed in January of 2011 and was awarded management of the Brooks Theatre by the City of Oceanside.
