Santa Cruz Shakespeare is proud to present our new Student Matinee Week premiering after the 2018 Summer Season. Our professional production of Romeo & Juliet will remain open for four student-only matinee performances running through September 4-7. These 10am matinees are for students and their chaperones only, and include a post-show discussion with the actors after each performance.
For educators who would like teaching resources for Romeo & Juliet, please sign up for our Educators Day on Friday, August 3. We will provide lesson plans that incorporate exciting on-your-feet activities that help make Shakespeare's texts fun for students. Educators Day offers a one-day training workshop to provide educators the tools, strategies, and lesson plans through visceral experiences in the instruction of Shakespeare with an emphasis on Romeo & Juliet. Educators Day is sponsored in partnership with Shakespeare Workshop, a program with the Institute for Humanities Research at UC Santa Cruz.
