Join the San Diego Women's Chorus on May 6th & 7th, 2017 as it celebrates its 30th Anniversary with Reflections: Looking Back on Our First 30 Years, a retrospective concert highlighting favorite songs from its rich performance history. Tickets are available now through www.SDWC.org.

Since 1987, San Diego Women's Chorus has raised voices in song while providing a safe space that encourages women's creativity, celebrates diversity, and inspires social action. Share in SDWC's musical journey, from its inception, with just 14 women singing around a piano to present day, which finds SDWC a thriving organization with over 100 singers.

Artistic Director, Kathleen Hansen, enthusiastically shares, "our audience will delight in enjoying to bawdy favorites, contemporary music, commissioned pieces and touching social tributes. Selections include "The Lesbian 2nd Date Moving Service" and "Leaping Lesbians," as well as more recently performed SDWC showstoppers "Soweto: June 1976," Adele's "Rumor Has It/Someone Like You" mashup, and Janis Ian's choral anthem "I'm Still Standing."

This intimate event will be held at University Christian Church, 3900 Cleveland Avenue, in the heart of Hillcrest with 3 performances only: Saturday May 6th at 3pm and 7:30pm and Sunday May 7th at 4pm.

Tickets are just $20 in advance and $25 at the door, with discounted pricing available. A select number of VIP tickets, which entitle ticket holders to premium seating in a reserved section of the venue, are available for $30 and will be sold in advance only.

Don't miss this momentous anniversary and historic musical experience for San Diego's performing arts community.

Founded in 1987 by community activist Dr. Cynthia Lawrence, SDWC has grown from a group of 14 lesbians gathered around a piano in a private home to a thriving community with over 125 members who believe in the power of music and the power of women. For 30 years, SDWC has provided a safe space that encourages women's creativity, celebrates diversity, and inspires social action. San Diego Women's Chorus is a non-profit community chorus that strives to entertain and inspire audiences with music that speaks to issues as diverse as human rights, love, world peace, religious freedom, environmental harmony, inclusion and cultural diversity. SDWC supports and affirms the music of women, as well as lesbian and gay composers and arrangers.
