The San Diego Theatre Connection is Creating Community and supporting the American Heart Association in its efforts to fight heart disease, the number one leading cause of death in the United States. Donations will be accepted during the run of the hit "dramedy" THE TIN WOMAN at Lamplighters Community Theatre celebrating its 80th Anniversary season.
The dynamic play based on a true story reveals the life of a woman who tracks down the family of her late heart-transplant donor. Doubts, shame and humanity meld together to create a bittersweet tale that is funny, moving and honest. Directed by Rob Conway, the cast features James P. Darvas, Amanda K. Hirsch, Lucinda Moaney, Mark Solz, Amy Stanley, Connie Terwillinger an Raylene J. Wall.
Audience members will be invited to "Have A Heart" and donate money in the Lamplighters lobby where there will be a tribute wall to honor survivors and those lost to heart disease. Donations of any amount will be accepted for a red heart message or red dress pin to be posted on the wall. An audience talk-back is scheduled during the show's run with representatives from the San Diego Division of the American Heart Association and a heart transplant recipient who will share her own story. The AHA aims to improve the lives of all Americans through CPR education training, helping people understand the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, providing science-based treatment guidelines to healthcare professionals, educating lawmakers and the public, and advocating for changes to protect and improve the health of our communities.
