Hop on board and "check out" dance at exciting new downtown locations along the MTS Trolley line.
As part of her much loved annual TROLLEY DANCES, Jean Isaacs has choreographed work in a fountain, in a board room, in a supermarket and in a children's museum. It's no surprise then, to hear she will be presenting work in the new San Diego Central Library downtown. For the 15th Annual TROLLEY DANCES, Jean is thrilled to be among the first performing arts groups to activate the new downtown architectural showpiece designed by Rob Wellington Quigley. This is not the first library to explode with dance. Past San Diego Dance Theater performances have infiltrated the stacks of the Chula Vista Main and Mission Valley Libraries over the years.
Tours will begin at Northgate Market Plaza, home of the new Mercado del Barrio, a shopping, dining and art-filled plaza in Barrio Logan. This year's site-specific dance extravaganza celebrates iconic buildings downtown and the revitalization of the neighborhoods of East Village and Barrio Logan. Patrons travel under the direction of trained tour guides to the exciting new San Diego Central Library and to the newly opened Monarch School for students impacted by homelessness. Patrons are encouraged to wear good walking shoes, and to bring some water and a sense of adventure.Videos
