San Diego Repertory Theatre presents OUTSIDE MULLINGAR by John Patrick Shanley, the fourth production of its 40th Anniversary Season. REP Associate Artistic Director Todd Salovey directs his first production of the season, tackling Pulitzer, Tony and Oscar-winner Shanley's not-so-average romantic comedy set in Ireland. The show's run begins tonight, Jan. 21, 2016 and runs through Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, 2016 with an opening night on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast below!

John Patrick Shanley, author of the wildly popular "Moonstruck," returns once again to The REP with this new play about family, land and whether it's ever too late to fall in love. REP audiences last saw his work in 2009 with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner "Doubt," also directed by REP Associate Artistic Director Todd Salovey. A far cry from the darkness of "Doubt," this romantic comedy is described by the New York Daily News as Shanley's Irish "Valentine to the wonder and weirdness of love."

Taking on the pair of 40-somethings who find love are San Diego favorites, Manny Fernandes and Carla Harting. Fernandes ("Cabaret," "A Christmas Carol") is making his return to The REP after 16 years, playing the role of "Anthony." He has received two San Diego Critics Circle awards for his performances in "Of Mice and Men" (Lennie) and "Golden Boy" (Tom Moody), both at New Village Arts. Harting ("Uncle Vanya," "The Misanthrope") is a REP favorite who will be returning to work once again with Salovey in the role of "Rosemary." Harting brings along a career that includes the world premiere productions of Sarah Ruhl's plays "Dead Man's Cell Phone" and "Eurydice," both productions in New York.

Joining them will be Ellen Crawford ("The Hostage," "A Touch of the Poet") as "Aoife," who was last seen at The REP in "Walter Cronkite is Dead." She is perhaps best known as "Nurse Lydia Wright" on the NBC series "ER." Along with Crawford is her husband Mike Genovese ("Uncle Vanya," "Death of a Salesman") as "Tony," who has appeared in numerous REP productions. "Outside Mullingar" serves as a reunion for the four castmates, who have all worked together and with Salovey in previous productions.

The creative team also includes Giulio Perrone (Scenic Designer), Anastasia Pautova (Costume Designer), Sherrice Mojgani (Lighting Designer), Heather M. Brose (Stage Manager), James Ramirez (Assistant Stage Manager), Grace Delaney (Assistant Director/Dialect Coach/Dramaturg), Zane Alcorn (Dramaturg) and Jacole Kitchen (Casting Director).
