Photo Flash: MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS Dance Into San Diego Junior Theatre

San Diego Junior Theatre, with a mission to provide engaging, innovative, high-quality theatre education and productions for children of all cultural heritages, ages, abilities and levels of interest continues its 70th Anniversary Season with a production of Mr. Popper's Penguins, directed by Ricardo Valenzuela. Mr. Popper's Penguins is based on the novel by Richard and Florence Atwater. Books and Lyrics are by Jody Davidson and music by Brett Schrier. The production will showcase the work of San Diego Junior Theatre youth performers and youth technicians, ranging in age from 8 to18. The production runs from June 29th - July 15th.

Mr. Popper, a house painter of modest means, lives with his family in a small town. He is a restless dreamer who spends his time reading of famous explorers in faraway places. See how his life changes when a package from Antarctica turns out to be a live, dancing penguin! Come along for an unforgettable adventure in this

The 33 person cast of Mr. Popper's Penguins is comprised of the following young San Diego performers: Alexandra Adsit, Anastasia Akapova, A'Verie Bell, Jacobo Birkbeck, Pita Birkbeck, Connor Bradshaw, Maia Cabrera, Justin Canning, Sarah Chan, Milly Cocanig, Demian Deonarine, Jillian Dessing, James Dowse, Audrey Fundingsland, Jayden Haims, Samuel Hendricks, Daniel Hernandez, Avery Jacobson, Sophie Kelvin, Nicole Lee, Zoey Mendenhall, Lillian Mirgoli, Chris Nalick, Richie Lynn Nguyen, Benjamin Park, Luke Renner, Isaac Rodriguez, Thais Santana, Anton Schneiderwind, Braeden Steele, Joee Verdin, Elizabeth Wheeler and Soshie Wisner.

Mr. Popper's Penguins runs from June 29th - July 15th at the Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park. Performances are Fridays at 7pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. Pajama Night is on Friday, July 6th at 7pm. There will be a Sensory-Friendly performance on Saturday, July 7th at 11am. There will be an ASL-Interpreted performance, Saturday, July 14th at 2pm.
