This week, the cast of Disney's THE LION KING Tour took time out from their busy performance schedule to raise literacy awareness with "A Lion in the Library: Spooky Stories told by Members of the Cast of Disney's The Lion King."  About 260 students from the San Diego area showed up to hear the cast read Gris Grimley's Little Jordan Ray's Muddy Spud and Tailypo, a folk tale.

The San Diego engagement of THE LION KING is presented by arrangement with Broadway/San Diego - A Nederlander Presentation at the Civic Theatre through Sunday, November 8. The show plays Tuesday-Sunday. Ticket prices range from $20 to $79. Additionally, Premium Ticket Packages are available for $132.50, which includes a prime seat location, a commemorative souvenir program and an exclusive merchandise item. Orders for groups of 20 or more may be placed by calling (619) 564-3001.

Now in its second sold-out decade in New York, THE LION KING is the winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, eight Drama Desk Awards, six Outer Critics Circle Awards, the New York Drama Critics award for Best Musical, the Evening Standard Award for the Theatrical Event of the Year, two Olivier Awards, a Theatre World Award, the Astaire Award for Outstanding Choreography, two Drama League Awards and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.
