Ricky Nelson Remembered featuring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson will be presented on Saturday, November 19 at 8pm.
Celebrate the life and work of America's first "teen idol" Ricky Nelson with twin sons, Matthew and Gunnar Nelson.
Ricky Nelson Remembered is a multi-media celebration of the life and music of Teen Idol Ricky Nelson featuring hit songs ("Hello Mary Lou", "Travelin' Man", "Lonesome Town," "I Gotta Feeling," "GArden Party", etc.) performed by his twin sons Matthew & Gunnar Nelson. This is a show for all ages and appeals to multiple generations and celebrates Americana at its best. Audiences rave about this heartfelt, energy packed show.
Nelson emerged from "The Adventures of Ozzy and Harriet" to establish himself as one of the most endearing singers of the early '60s. Nelson's catalog of 53 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1957 and 1973 served as an influence to artists as diverse as Paul McCartney and John Fogerty (both of whom contribute video interviews to this performance). He is the only artist to have a number one song, number one movie and number one TV show in the same week. Life Magazine coined the phrase 'Teen Idol' after him and he is credited with being one of the pioneers of the country rock sound.
When Matthew and Gunnar hit #1 on the Billboard charts with their rock band, Nelson, and self-penned #1 mega hit "(Can't Live Without Your) Love & Affection" it put the Nelson family in the Guinness Book of Worlds as the only family in entertainment history with three generations of Number one hitmakers. Matthew and Gunnar have five Top 40 Billboard hits, four number one MTV videos and have sold over 6.5 million albums worldwide.
Now, the Rick Nelson legacy continues as Matthew and Gunnar present this rock & roll concert experience.
