San Diego Theatres in collaboration with San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) presents A Lythgoe Family Panto "A Snow White Christmas," an American panto presentation featuring an onscreen appearance from Tony Award Winner Neil Patrick Harris as the "Magic Mirror."

Directed by Chris Baldock and featuring choreography by Emmy Nominee Spencer Liff ("So You Think You Can Dance") and Musical Supervision by Michael Orland ("American Idol"), this family-friendly presentation begins on December 2nd and runs through the 24th in the Lyceum Stage Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza.

"We are proud to partner with the Lythgoe family and bring a fun and exciting new addition to our San Diego holiday scene," says San Diego Theatres President and CEO, Elizabeth Doran, who produced American Panto with the Lythgoes for several years in Los Angeles prior to coming to San Diego last year. "'A Snow White Christmas' is a big hit - it gets everyone singing, dancing, and laughing together. At San Diego Theatres we foster collaboration, and we are thrilled to co-present this show with our neighbor, the excellent San Diego Repertory Theatre in the newly renovated Lyceum Theatre."

"We are really excited to bring this traditional family entertainment to San Diego. Panto is multi generational theatre, introducing Kids to the arts while entertaining adults," says Lythgoe, the show's author and President of Lythgoe Family Panto. "San Diego is a huge supporter of the Arts and we are proud to expand panto productions with San Diego Theatres and San Diego Repertory to another wonderful city."

An updated version of the classic tale, in the style of a traditional British family Panto, "A Snow White Christmas" features family-friendly magic, with a comedic twist, dancing (with "So You Think You Can Dance" alumni), a live miniature pony and contemporary music from Katy Perry's "Firework" to Huey Lewis and the News' "Power of Love" to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and more. A Panto is known for its interactive style and humor that appeals to everyone from ages 2 - 102!

Lythgoe Family Panto are the exclusive producers of American Panto. It is essentially Musical theatre which incorporates audience participation and pop songs. American Pantos are based on fairytales that kids know and love but the humor within them is directed to the adults with topical jokes and local references. It's a little like a pixar movie on stage! American Panto began in 2010 with Cinderella Christmas starring 'The Beaver' Jerry Mathers. Since then many more productions have been mounted including Snow White Christmas starring Arianna Grande and Neil Patrick Harris at the Pasadena Playhouse and a second version in Salt Lake City starring David Osmond and Amy Whitcomb. Aladdin and his Winter Wish starring Ben Vereen, Ashley Argota and JorDan Fisher premiered December 2013 and in 2014 Sleeping Beauty and Her Winter Knight starring Lucy Lawless, Olivia Holt and Garrett Clayton was mounted at the Pasadena Playhouse. In 2015 a further 3 theatres will be adding the American Panto brand to their season. If it's not produced by Lythgoe Family Productions, it's not American Panto.
