Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) announces casting for Same Time Next Year, by Bernard Slade, the first show in their 2017/2018 Season. Their four show season starts in October of 2017 and runs through May of 2018. They perform at the Brooks Theatre in Oceanside.

Same Time Next Year, by Bernard Slade runs from Oct 6 - 22, 2017. The story follows a love affair between Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a year. Twenty-five years of manners and morals are hilariously and touchingly played out by the lovers. Same Time Next Year is directed by Ted Leib and features active San Diego artist Michelle Marie Trester as Doris and Eric Hellmers as George.

OTC Artistic Director, Ted Leib shared, "As the new Artistic Director of Oceanside Theatre Company, I'm thrilled to announce casting for the first show of our upcoming season. Same Time Next Year is one of the most popular romantic comedies of the century. Michelle and Eric are both active San Diego Artists who each bring wonderfully versatile performance skills to this comedic and touching gem. For the remainder of the Season 2017/18, we've got some familiar favorites and exciting music. We're looking forward to sharing it with the Oceanside Community and beyond."

Miracle on 34th Street, A Radio Play, based on the LUX Radio Theatre Broadcast

Travel back to a 1940 radio studio at the holidays in this classic story of Holiday miracles. Do you believe in Santa Claus? When a jolly bearded man named Kris Kringle is hired by Macy's Department store, he claims to be the real deal. Some believe him...some think he is crazy. This charming holiday favorite is transformed into a a live staged radio broadcast straight from the 1950's, complete with manual sound effects, holiday carols, original classic commercials and a cast of all ages.

Rosemary lives right next door, determined to have him yet watching the years slip away.

The Pirates of Penzance

A new twist on the classic Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. Set in 1962, these Pirates are a waterfront street gang in leather jackets led by a Pirate King of Swing;, the Major General is a MacArthur-esque figure complete with corncob pipe and deep southern drawl; and the music is updated to a mix of contemporary styles of the era - Rock 'n' Roll, pop, big band swing, bluegrass, & more.

Eric Hellmers (George) Eric is a local actor/director/singer/teacher/crooner who works all over San Diego. Theaters include Moonlight Amphitheater, Welk Resort, Cygnet, the Avo, San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT), the Brooks Theatre, Ion, and the Lyceum. He teaches and directs children's theatre for Carlsbad Community Theatre, Aviara Oaks Middle School and Carlsbad Performing Arts Academy. Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) was formed in January of 2011 and was awarded management of the Brooks Theatre by the City of Oceanside. Their mission is to create professional quality theatre for a vibrant and diverse population. OTC produces a 4 show mainstage season in their 198 seat venue as well as ongoing play-reading and music series in their blackbox theatre - Studio 219.
