The Marin Shakespeare Company is holding auditions for the role of Lucius for its summer production of "Julius Caesar." Auditions will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre on the campus of Dominican University in San Rafael.
The ideal actor for this role should be 11 - 19 years old, be able to convey a youthful naiveté to contrast with the play's intensely political outlook, sing, play a musical instrument and have a voice that can be heard in the large Forest Meadows Amphitheatre. While the role calls for a boy, Marin Shakespeare Company will audition girls who appear boyish.
This is a volunteer position with afternoon and evening rehearsals generally from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 7 to 11 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays from July 21 through the first performance on August 21. The actor playing Lucius will not be called to every rehearsal.

Audition attendees should park in the main campus parking lot at Dominican University of California located at 1475 Grand Avenue, San Rafael. Walk behind the Recreation Center, over the bridge and past the tennis courts to the Amphitheatre entrance.
