Once a year, one of the nation's historic and most visually distinctive hotels gets even more magical during the holidays. And for the past fifteen years, the Hotel del Coronado has teamed with San Diego's Lamb's Players Theatre to present one of the most unique yuletide events in the nation, An American Christmas, a remarkable three-hour performance that takes place in the hotel's beautiful Grand Ballroom. This year's production will take place nightly from December 13 - 27 (no performance December 25).

As you step inside the gorgeous Ballroom of the Hotel Del, you are transported back to 1909 for a Christmas celebration like noNe You've ever experienced. Your hosts are the Marshall family - a large, extended family living in the year 1909, who love to entertain new and old friends in the grand American style at their favorite destination, the Hotel del Coronado. Played by a full cast of versatile performers who never miss a beat, the Marshall family welcome their guests and fill the evening with music, dance, song, and laughter, as all enjoy a delicious five-course Christmas meal in a sumptuous setting you'll never forget. Guests will discover why visitors come from all over the nation to attend, and why many return year after year, having found that AN AMERICAN CHRISTMAS has come to fill an irreplaceable, magical place in their own family's holiday tradition.

Westways Magazine called An American Christmas "a lavish holiday feast with a historical twist! The atmosphere is authentic and undeniably merry. Guests leave with all their Yuletide yearnings satisfied." San Diego Magazine said the evening is "a perfect melding of food, ambience, and showmanship." David Lansing of Sunset Magazine called the production "exceptionally entertaining - it far exceeded my wildest expectations." And no less a master of mood and atmosphere than writer Ray Bradbury said of the whole experience: "I love the Hotel Del Coronado at Christmastime. It's like you're back 100 years, which is where you should be at Christmas."

Tickets to An American Christmas are $115 - $160 for adults and $80 - $125 for children ages 5 - 12. The all-inclusive ticket also includes champagne toast, tax, and gratuity. The doors to the Grand Ballroom open each night at 6:30 p.m. There is no performance on Christmas Day. Seating is at round tables of eight, with some 10-person tables available for groups of 10. The attire is festive, with jackets suggested for men.
