Jazz Pianist Betty Bryant Returns to Martinis Above Fourth in August

Legendary blues and cabaret artist Betty Bryant, who was named a Jazz Living Legend in 2015, returns to perform at Martinis Above Fourth for the third time. She will also accept her BRAVO San Diego Award as a Cabaret Icon at her 8PM performance on August 18. Tickets, available at www.ma4sd.com, are $20.

Audiences are always thrilled to witness Betty's powerhouse performances as well as her humor and instant rapport with them. The revered Jazz icon, known as Cool Miss B, has the ability to connect with the material, and her audience, as she performs classic blues, jazz and originals with a light swingy touch, torchy passion and elegantly whimsical good humor. Bryant has performed internationally in the Middle East and Brazil, and for many years was a popular regular attraction at the upscale Tableaux Lounge in Tokyo, Japan. The "Betty Bryant Birthday Bash" is a hugely popular annual event in Hollywood, and has been presented at the famed Catalina Jazz Club.

On January 25, 2016, Bryant was named the 2015 San Diego Cabaret Icon by BRAVO San Diego. BSD is a well-known local organization that recognizes some of the best presentation efforts in San Diego and Southern California performing arts communities. As Betty received the accolade for her performances at Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage, she will be presented with the award by Rob Appel, managing editor ofBRAVO San Diego Theatre Reviews, and County Supervisor Dave Roberts during the August 18 show.
